Within Reach 2023 Calendar and Prayer Guide – February

ICM

Within Reach

Are you ready to read amazing stories of what God is doing around the world?

Healthy churches are changing communities. Lives are being transformed by the Gospel. Let us continue to pray for the nations together.

As we move towards our goal of reaching 25 Million Disciples for Christ, we know that empowering existing believers is just as crucial as sharing the Gospel with those who have never heard it. Healthy churches must be filled with healthy disciples who are fully equipped to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.

This prayer calendar and journal highlights just a few of the people and projects that are blessed by your giving.

We hope you are touched by reading these testimonies from our ministry partners around the world.

All Scripture references come from the English Standard Version (ESV). *Names changed to protect identity.

Reaching the World for Christ, One Disciple at a Time

Cwero Good News Church and Women’s Empowerment Program

Uganda

Jenefer, a woman living in a tiny village in Uganda, was determined to make a good living for herself. She was a hard worker, and wanted to learn how to do something different. A new skill would help build her confidence too!

She is just one woman who benefits from the Women’s Empowerment Program, which is a life-changing initiative connected to ICM-developed churches across the nation of Uganda. The program allows women to learn essential business skills and a trade of their choosing.

For Jenefer, the program provided oxen and a plow to assist her farming venture. At first, her fiancé was unsure about Jenefer earning money as a farmer, and he was not supportive at all. Jenefer was upset about this, and it caused many violent arguments between the couple. But when the program introduced her to Jesus, her relationship with her fiancé changed. Her heart softened, and now that she follows Jesus, her example is helping her fiancé strengthen his own connection to God. Together, they are praying for a bountiful rice harvest, and they have built a positive partnership with Christ at the center of their relationship.

Jenefer and her fiancé are now going to church regularly which is helping them prepare for marriage. Praise God for this life transformation!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”

Church is not only a place to worship. It is also a place to laugh, cry, and fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters. For February, think about your own church, your pastor, and the congregation. Is anyone in your congregation struggling, and can you serve them in any way? Is there anything you can do to help your pastor feel appreciated?

Prayer Requests

  • Pray that Jenefer and other women impacted by the Women’s Empowerment Program would grow in their faith.
  • Pray for church members to maintain good health and strong faith.
  • Pray for more churches to be established so people in other villages would come to know Christ.
