Building hope in Capim Marinho

In one of Brazil’s most under served neighborhoods, a small but faithful ministry is transforming lives. The Capim Marinho congregation began with humble gatherings, literacy classes, and children’s activities. In just two years, this ministry has grown into a vibrant community hub with over 50 believers meeting regularly, providing vital support to an area with no other church nearby.

This year, the impact of the ministry reached new heights. In February, a team of Christian doctors held a Health and Life Action event that served more than 300 people—providing medical care, distributing medicine, and sharing the gospel. Local children are also experiencing change. “We have seen changes in the lives of many children, in their behavior and performance at school,” reports a ministry leader. “The light of Christ proclaimed by the missionaries has made a difference for the entire community.”

Now, the vision is growing even bigger. Plans are underway to build the Capim Marinho Para Training Center, a permanent space where believers can worship, leaders can be trained, and the next generation can receive digital education and professional training. The center will feature a digital education room to provide children, youth, and adults with both spiritual formation and practical skills for their future.

     • Fruitful Evangelism: Pray that every activity—literacy programs, health outreaches, children’s activities—would continue to plant gospel seeds that bear eternal fruit.

     • Protection for Children: Lift up the children of the Marajó Archipelago, many of whom face domestic violence and broken family structures. Pray that their participation in the Sweet Home Project, along with medical and psychological support, will strengthen them emotionally and spiritually.

     • Equipped Leaders: Ask God to raise up indigenous leaders who will be trained and sent out to reach more communities with the Good News.
