A Legacy Reignited

ICM

Church Building

Stories of Hope

A revival that never stopped—now accelerating again

When ICM first began working in Cuba in 1990, few could have imagined how God would multiply the effort. Over the next 12 years, 230 churches were built in partnership with five denominations across the island. Even when funding was halted and contact lost, the work didn’t stop. By 2015, Cuban partners had built over 400 more churches—evidence that the Holy Spirit was moving powerfully, and the seeds ICM planted had taken deep root.

Today, that legacy continues.

After a 15-year pause, ICM officially returned to Cuba in 2023. The context is dire: the country is experiencing economic collapse, historic migration, food and fuel shortages, and massive blackouts. But in the midst of the hardship, the Church is rising once again.

There are now 10 ICM projects under construction, with more on the horizon. Congregations are growing. Churches are multiplying. And communities are being reached both physically and spiritually. One pastor reflected:

“ICM was one of the first organizations that came through and helped launch expansion — it was pretty significant.”

From corrugated fences to vibrant sanctuaries, the Cuban Church is rebuilding hope, brick by brick—and ICM is honored to walk with them once more.
