The Power of Prayer

ICM
Prayer is not just support for the mission—it is ICM’s very foundation.

Each week we gather—on Fridays in person in Newport News, VA, and on Thursdays at noon via Zoom—to lift up our partners serving across the globe, our dedicated staff, and our leaders. This is a critical ministry, as many of those we pray for labor in regions where the gospel is not welcomed, yet the light of Christ continues to shine. By coming together in prayer, we stand united in faith, asking the LORD to guide, protect, and strengthen His people.

We welcome all who share this heart to join us!

From a young age, Judy felt called to serve God wherever He led. For most of her life, that calling kept her rooted in the Tidewater area of Virginia. But after she and her husband retired, God opened a new door of service through a providential encounter with ICM founder Dois Rosser.

“We were living in a community that Dois had developed when he spoke at one of our neighborhood meetings. Afterward, he sat with us and invited us to learn more about ICM over lunch. When we heard his story and saw the ministry’s impact, we knew God was inviting us to join the mission. That was over 10 years ago!”

Since that day, Judy has faithfully served as an ICM volunteer and prayer team member.“Joining in prayer with other Christians for people who are part of an organization with an effective ‘feet on the ground’ strategy to fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission is amazing! Praying for staff, partners, donors, and the people whose lives are being transformed for Christ is a mission unto itself.”

“Serving as a volunteer with ICM and as part of its prayer team has been one of God’s greatest blessings!” — Judy Walls

Her years of prayer have given her a front-row seat to God’s miraculous work:

     • Seeing urgent financial needs met in seemingly impossible ways.

     • Hearing stories of church opponents coming to Christ and becoming passionate members.

     • Witnessing God’s protection over believers—like a Ukrainian family safely reaching refuge after hours of prayer during the Russian invasion.

“Over and over again we have heard experiences that are just as awe-inspiring. What a blessing to be part of seeing God at work in His world.”

Judy’s story reminds us that prayer is not just talking to God — it’s participating in His work. If you have a heart to pray for God’s people around the world, this is your invitation to join us.
