Nepal

As in India, a caste system is prominent in Nepalese society despite its legal abolishment in the 1960s.  In this system, people are divided into specific groups and ranked according to their profession.  The non-discriminatory nature of Christianity, on the other hand, promotes the equality of all people and assures that salvation is possible for everyone no matter their social rank.  This idea is especially appealing to members of lower castes.

ICM began building churches in Nepal in 2000 and, after a few year hiatus, is excited to have formed a new partnership.  Please pray with us that the churches will be light and salt to the people in the communities.  It is our sincere desire that Christ is lifted up in Nepal!

TMBC was launched in 120 groups throughout Nepal in October of 2008.
