Mozambique

After a civil war in 1977, the country was left with a ravaged economy, which the government has attempted to rebuild since the multiparty elections in 1994.  While Mozambique had some of the world’s largest economic growth rates in the late 1990s, it remains among the poorest of the world’s nations with the majority of its population below the poverty line.  In 2000, the average annual income in Mozambique was estimated to be about $210.  The country has also suffered major setbacks because of severe flooding in 2000 and 2001 and a terrible drought in 2002. Only Jesus Christ can bring hope to the people of this nation devastated by years of repressive rule, a civil war, and a damaged economy.

TMBC was launched in the end of 2008 with 400 initial MegaVoice units to serve 1,200 groups.
