Religious Outlook & the Work of ICM
Over 60 percent of the population is involved in occult practices, but Christianity has undergone rapid expansion in this country during the last 20 years. The result is an incredible need for maturing and strengthening the evangelical church.
The spread of Christianity is so rapid in Brazil that indigenous denominations and missions agencies cannot keep up with its growth. As a result, there is a tremendous need for a ministry like ICM, which is committed to providing the indigenous church with resources to assist them in the Harvest and a model for church growth and development through the use of ICM’s web strategy.
Because local radio stations are prevalent in Brazil, ICM is also able to use an integrated strategy, which links together church growth, radio and follow up, with great effectiveness throughout the country. The Portuguese version of the Mini Bible College is currently on the air on local stations, which broadcast directly in those communities where ICM-partnered churches are under construction.
The availability of local radio in Brazil means that Mini Bible College written study booklets will have maximum effectiveness as follow-up tools for church growth partners. Radio listeners requesting these printed materials will write to the church growth partner in that area, who will fulfill the request and begin a relationship with that person via further contact. Praise God for the work He is doing in Brazil, and that we are invited to participate!
