Philippines Trip

On a recent trip to the Philippines, the ICM team saw several signs of God at work. After traveling on an outrigger boat, the ICM team reached an island where a society known as the Aeta lives. The Aeta people are treated as an inferior type in the Philippines and have little food and money. Although facing all these obstacles, the Aeta never lose site of God.

One Aeta pastor and his wife are using their own home as an orphanage. Due to rising rice prices, the couple and occasionally the children often go without a meal. However, their faith continues to hold steadfast and they just continue to pray that God will see them through their tough times. Seeing the family’s predicament, one of the ICM team members took it upon himself to go and buy the family some rice. The family’s thankfulness could not be expressed in words as they were so grateful for the answers to their prayers.

On another note, a youth rally offered ICM another outstanding opportunity to see God at work. During the invocation, ICM team members witnessed more than 70 youth come to know Christ. This movement amongst the young people offers great promise for the Christian movement in the Philippines.
