Storms in Haiti

The people of Haiti continue to suffer the effects of four major storms in August and September that have left over 790 dead, 300 or more missing, and thousands without a home.

The situation is serious as fuel is difficult to obtain and food is scarce.  Many areas of the country have had no power since the last storm.  Congregants are delivering food and supplies to those living in the northern mountainous regions where deforestation has made inhabitants particularly vulnerable to the storms’ damaging effects.

ICM has partnered to build 47 churches in Haiti.  It is one of the poorest countries in South America with 80% of the population living in poverty and 50% practicing Voodoo.

Please pray for the recovery of this country in the midst of this natural disaster and for God’s grace as congregants witness the love of Christ through their relief efforts.
