Trip to Africa

Brad Orchard's story about a church he visited in Burkina Faso.

"At another dedication ceremony in Burkina Faso a terrible storm developed bringing torrential rain with it. As the wind whipped up during the service the metal windows began slamming one by one. The hard rain on the metal roof was so loud you couldn't hear the pastor. Soon the generator went out taking the sound and lights with it. With the windows closed and the generator not working it was dark inside the church and all you could hear was the pounding rain on the roof. With nothing else to do, the congregation started to sing. They sang for a long time. Song after song. Soon someone brought in candles and the congregation rose to their feet and began to dance in a large circle while continuing to sing. They did this until the rain eventually stopped. Our partner Philippe said to me, "We have two blessings today, the dedication of this church and much needed rain for our farmers."
