ICM in Rwanda

The following was reported by one of ICM’s partners, CFR, in Rwanda. CFR still has 280 congregations and only 8 ICM buildings.

Rev. Ananie Bagaragaza (CFR) is so happy with what God has done “since being accepted as an ICM partner!” In Rwanda, a church is not considered real unless it has a physical building. CFR has thus struggling to grow their ministry since they lacked church buildings and thus credibility. When meetings were held with other pastors, CFR pastors were not even called upon to speak. The absence of a building was so significant that they would often lose church members to Jehovah Witnesses, Kingdom Hall’s, and Catholic Churches. However, many members returned to CFR once the church was built!

It was encouraging to hear that the first 2 churches built with ICM have doubled since their dedication! Many have come to the Lord in salvation because they recognize the miracle of God constructing a church in their poor village. They recognize that the building is from God!

The churches that have been built are also being used as schools during the week, which doubles as an evangelistic outreach to families. School children and their parents now attend the church on Sunday! One CFR church has so many school children that they are having to turn people away.
