Zelva Chapel

Country: Belarus

Cost of Church: $8,525

Amount Needed: $0

Zelva church was founded in 1922. Each year membership grew until there were 120 church members. In 1930, a prayer house was built.

Nine years later, the Soviet Union confiscated the prayer house and began to persecute church members. The congregation changed their meeting place ten times. Membership decreased, but the small church’s spirit could not be broken. God protected His church.

In the 90s, the prayer house was returned in very bad shape. There were thirty church members—all elderly. During the next ten years, a new pastor helped invigorate the congregation and bring in new members, including youth.

A message from the church to you: “Now we want to complete the reconstruction of our prayer house. We praise God that He is helping us!”
